Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TrixiStitches ("the Service"), operated by Ruan Mentz at https://trixistitches.com. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
TrixiStitches is a reader for knitting and crochet pattern PDFs. It can import patterns from storage providers you connect, highlight your selected size, provide an abbreviation glossary, and generate an optional AI summary. The Service is provided free of charge and may change, be suspended, or be discontinued at any time.
3. Accounts and connected services
You may sign in with Google and connect third-party accounts (such as Dropbox, Google Drive, or Ravelry). You are responsible for your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for activity that occurs under your account. You may disconnect a service or sign out at any time. Your use of each third-party service remains subject to that provider's own terms and policies.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Import, store, or process content you do not have the right to use.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' data, or connected accounts.
- Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure, or attempt to circumvent its security, rate limits, or access controls.
- Reverse engineer or misuse the Service except as permitted by law.
5. Your content and intellectual property
Knitting and crochet patterns and PDFs you import belong to their respective authors, designers, or rights holders. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any pattern you import. TrixiStitches claims no ownership of your patterns or the notes and annotations you create, and does not grant you any rights in third-party patterns. The Service's own software, branding, and design are owned by the operator and may not be copied except as permitted by its licence.
6. AI summaries are informational only
The optional AI "pattern at a glance" feature produces an automated, best-effort summary that may be incomplete or inaccurate. It is not a substitute for the original pattern, and you should always rely on the source pattern for your work. We are not responsible for outcomes that rely on AI-generated output.
7. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties including Google, Dropbox, Ravelry, our AI processing provider (Groq), and our host (Render). We do not control and are not responsible for these services, their availability, or their terms. Your use of them is governed by their respective agreements.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any imported content or AI output will be accurate or complete.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
